This talk by Dr. Dyan Hes will focus on a 9-year case study of a girl with obesity.

This case will discuss the different modalities to treat obesity for youth, including medications, behavioral health, and surgery. New medication guidelines will be discussed as well as their mechanism of action. The comorbidities of obesity in youth will also be discussed.

  2. Demonstrate improved ability to counsel patients and provide resources to families for management of obesity in pediatric and adolescent patients.

  3. Review mechanisms of action and guidelines for medications that can be used to treat obesity in youth.

  4. Review the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Pediatric Committee guidelines for management of obesity in pediatric and adolescent patients.
